The diagnosis

Hi,

My name is S.K and I have blocked fallopian tubes. I'm not going to bother to explain what fallopian tubes are because I assume that if you managed to find this page you should already know. Anyway, I'm 34 years old and was married once and didn't get pregnant. I got pregnant once at age 17 but then lost it (I had wanted to have an abortion but ended up having a miscarriage instead).
Several years ago I was diagnosed with chlamydia. Chlamydia clears up right away with anti-bioitics but it presents no symptoms, therefore it is an insidious disease that robs a woman of her fertility in the prime of her life.
Now back to my tubes. I had an HSG done the other day that confirmed they were both blocked. Many people also know this as the dye test. The dye test isn't completely accurate so I will be having a laparoscopy on the 26th. The doctor who did my HSG told me bluntly the only option for me is IVF. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not morally opposed to IVF in any way, but ideally I would like to get preggers naturally (hey who doesn't). The problem with the whole ivf thing is, you gotta be in a really supportive relationship and if you're not and you really want a child then you have to buy donor sperm. Like I said, I'm not morally opposed to this in any way, but personally for me, I would prefer to know who my child's father is. But who knows, maybe the further the age train leaves the station I may just decide to jump onbaord and go for it. But for now, I just have a boyfriend, and he doesn't know about my little problem...yet. We've both been married before and he already has 3 kids.
